Jet Pump breaker tripped, now it wont come on? Possible causes? Please help

What could be the problem with my shallow jet well pump? I was doing laundry and got an error code that there was a problem with the water source, checked the faucet and no water, I thought we ran out of water since we are in a moderate drought and our well is only 25 ft, occasionally we do have to haul in some water when we have a dry spell, but it has been a few years. Well I decided to check the breaker for the pump about 5 hours later and it was tripped, so I flipped it back on, walked outside and didnt hear the pump kick on and no water. My husband drives truck and is not home today and I cannot get the lid to the well house off by myself ( he built the house about 3 ft high with cinder blocks and has a lid over the top that he removes and climbs into the well house) so I cannot check the water level or even look at the pump. So do you think we ran out of water, the pump burned up from trying to pump when there was no water and tripped the breaker? Or the breaker tripped for an unknown reason and the pump lost pressure? Do they generally have a reset on the pressure switch or something that maybe needs reset? Could it be vapor locked? I'm not sure if the pump would try to run if it was vapor locked? Could the pressure just be low and the pumped turned itself off the prevent it from burning up? I'm sorry I dont know model of well pump, buts it's either 3/4 or 1HP, got it from lowes almost 7 years ago (I remember because when we came home the hospital from having our youngest the well pump had went out ugh) my husband will be home tomorrow, but my mind wont stop trying to figure out what's wrong and if we will need to get a new pump, or hopefully just haul in some water. Any ideas are appreciated.

Just a little update, after leaving all faucets etc alone for a couple hours, I went to wash my hands and forgot about the water, well some water came out , just a small stream and maybe 1/2 a cup, the pump did NOT kick on, (this is the end part of the water line) went to the kitchen and turned the faucet on (it's the first place water goes from our water line) and same thing a small stream with about 1/2 of water and pump did not kick on. Neither one of these faucets had any water whatsoever coming out earlier, the kitchen faucet however you could hear air and some gurgling water a few hours ago, but nothing came out....... where is the water coming from? Was it just stuck in the lines and made it's way to the faucets? Did I maybe not hear the pump ( I didnt go outside, just opened my bedroom window and listened and usually I can hear it kick on with my window open) and we are just out of water and it was able to pump up that little bit?......ugh I am not going to get any sleep worrying about this , I work in IT and troubleshoot problems all day long so its killing me not being able to look in the well house and see what the situation is in there. On the plus side I work from home so nobody has to smell my non showered self lol

There is an auto-resetting overload in the motor. Sometimes they will re-set and run the pump for a few seconds and shut back off. Water doesn't just magically come shooting up from the well, so the pump had to be working at least for a short time. Tripping a breaker usually means a short in the wires or motor.

Sooo the power to the well house is still hooked up to our old house trailer and my husband just never moved it over to our newly built house yet, well my brother in law was over at the trailer repairing the floors for my in laws to move into it and he was trying to turn off the breaker to the dryer and flipped the breaker for the well too, so that's why the breaker was flipped, so hopefully when my husband gets home it just needs primed
