The kitchen sink drain pipe has a leak where it is joined to the trap. What is the best way to seal the leak? I've seen those PVC joint rings on Youtube videos. Is this a good way to fix the leak?

Post a good picture or two of the leaky joint.
What material is your trap and drain?
You might just need to tighten the slip nuts.
Or replace a damaged or crumbling washer.

All drain lines and the trap are PVC. All connections are glued together. No slip nuts.
