Kitchen Faucet Removal Dilemma

I am replacing my kitchen faucet but run into some trouble. I am having a hard time removing the center part of the faucet under the sink. I included a couple of pictures. I tried unscrewing it by hand as i did the other two, but it won't budge. The nut seems like is encased in this black plastic thing. I tried prying it off so i can get into the nut but no luck at all. Does anyone have any suggestion on what i should do?

You may wish to try a basin wrench.

Also, spray some penetrator on it and let it sit for awhile.

Not sure bUT I think the black plastic and nut will unscrew together using the basin wrench.

Yes, looks like the black plastic part is just fitted over the nut, one should turn with the other.
You could pbly just tap a flat blade screwdriver between the two, and twist it, which might crack the plastic so it can be removed.
Be careful not to bang up the sink with the screwdriver.

As Jeff said above, a few sprays of penetrating oil will help break the plastic and the brass nut free from that rusty junk.

Looks like you have enough room to get a pair of channel lock type pump pliers on it.

While you are at it, coat all that long threaded section with oil, that brass nut pbly has to unthread over all that corrosion.

Thank you for your replies, I really appreciate it. I have solved my problem. I rented a reciprocating saw from home depot and just saw the old faucet off. I tried uploading the photos here but it says its too big of a file. So I just added it to my media. Thanks again for all the suggestions.

use your dremel tool with a cut off blade

cut the nut into, then spread it with a screw driver
