I removed a Tee from my jet pump suction line and now need to connect the pipes. I do not know if it is ABS or PVC. Do I glue 2 couplings together with a length of 2 inch pipe? There is no lateral movement in either pipe. Could I insert some kind of union? Thanks J.

If the pipe is black it is likely abs, if it is dark grey probably sch 80 pvc. What was it used for? If it was a pressure pipe it should not be abs.

Thos close fixes can be a pain.

Those pipe ends look like they may have had a clamp on them. If that's true, you could likely do the same. Do you still have the tee you removed?

Take what was cut out to a supply house to ID it and possibly get some ideas what to use to join those ends.

Looks kind of like the coil-able black plastic . Which would jive , if the old fitting had clamps .

God bless

That is hdpe. Get 2 brass couplings and 8 hose clamps. 2 hose clamps per joint. Orient the clamps so they tighten 180 degrees from each other.
