I have had an issue with a sewage smell for a while now. Its real bad after a shower and only comes through the hvac duct work. I can smell a little in the laundry room which has alot of our plumbing, a sump pump pit, tankless water heater, and furnace along with the air handler. So I know the intake of our a/c has to be pulling the smell in and spreading it throughout the house. I didnt a smoke test (knowing I was doing it wrong) through the drain vent didnt plug anything shot smoke through and it came out of ever vent in our house and no where else. My question is has anyone here ever came across this?

Thanks in advance!

when you say sump pit do you mean it pumps your plumbing drain or just ground water/clear water???

Ground water from crawl space. I don't know if it makes a difference but I live in a tri level house

i wonder if its coming from your roof vent and some how getting blown in your bath and laundry exhaust by the wind try extending your plumbing vent (if) you think that would cause it if its plastic.....pvc or abs just get a coupling push it on and extend it what ever you think without gluing it see what happens I have dealt with something like this with a natural gas smell and it was the wind

I have a wind cap on the drain vent already we dont smell it when its windy only if it rains or we shower I guess I may just have a plumber come send a endoscope down the drain vent to see for cracks or holes. I sent an endoscope down but I have a cheap one and it hard to make out what im looking at. Just got out of the crawl space to fix a small leak in my mortar and didnt smell anything till I got close to that room. Didnt see anything out of place so it must be seaping into the crawl space from that room.
