so we just bought a hous about a year back and i have always put the mixer in the same position. now its 100 degrees out and after cutting the lawn i did not want the shower as hot. no matter how far i turn it it just gets hotter. the pipes going to the shower in the basment look good and i can identify the hot and cold water pipes. is this a bad mixer ? are they adjustable ?

this a well system with a softener and water boss

thanks in advance

what brand is your shower valve.....sometime with certain brands there is a (barrell)that moves back and forth with pressure....sometimes they get stuck you can soak them in vinagar

Geofd is right, modern shower valves have an anti-scald function that tries to balance hot and cold by limiting each as needed.

Also, you can usually just change the cartridge (the removable core) of your shower valve and it will behave like new again.

You should provide more info.
First of all provide some pics of the valve, ar least just the outside handle and trim plate, and also look for a brand name such as Moen, Kohler, etc.
