hope you are having a great day,

Can we install both anti-vortex plate and foot valve on the same suction line?
we are installing a new potable water tank (underground) and I observe the designer put only foot valve in the suction of the pipe supplying water to the pump from UG tank (pump is aboveground).
 
An anit-vortex plate helps to keep the whirlpool from happening when the foot valve is set shallow. You can also use a vortex plate with a submersible, which is much better for an underground tank as you don't have to worry about suction lift or prime.
