Hi Everybody,
I have a few questions. I just finished putting in a new sand point well. It's 2" dia 30' deep. I have water 10' down. Filled the well pipe to the top. Put the pitcher pump on and primed it. Let it sit awhile for everything to soak and started to pump. I pumped the water out of the pump and all it got was a very hard to pump. Primed again. Same thing. And again... I pulled the pitcher pump off 3 times looking for a problem. I found nothing. The water in the well pipe was always at the top of the pipe. The water I did get out was on the black side. I dropped a line to the bottom and pulled it out. It was very dirty. There must be a fare amount of sand and whatever at the bottom of the sand point. The screen size is 60. So,,,, Now for the questions.

Is the screen full of sand and that is why there is such a vacuum in the well pipe.
Should I try cleaning (sucking) the sand out of the pipe. Saw that on YouTube.
A problem with the pitcher pump. There's nothing to them???

I know the limits of the pitcher pump. I don't think that 5' should be that big of a problem. "I don't think"?
Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Bob

You are probably pumping more than the well can recover
