Laundry sink water supply valves are very old and one (Cold) leaks intermittantly. Not a bad leak but would like to update with new ones. There is a 3rd valve coming off cold for fridge water run. Are there parts that I can purchase like shark bite fittings or do I need to sweat this stuff? It is all copper though the paint makes it look different in the picture. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated thanks - Bill

those are BRASS CRAFT valves should say right on the handle....you can buy replacement washers one (small)goes on the stem one (large )goes behind the large brass nut
a plumbing supply house would have the washers

I've stopped those leaks ( with the valve closed ) by removing the bonnet nut and coating the exposed stem with a liberal coating of plumber's grease then re-assemble the bonnet nut with about an extra 1/8 turn.

Thanks guys really appreciate the help; the good news is we havn't experience any leakage since posting. I am thinking of repairing as that is much easier. My wife sort of wanted "new fixtures" - so if anyone has ideas on whether or not (and how) to do this I'm all ears. Then I can make the best choice (happy wife happy life you know the drill)
