Within the last month or so, I have noticed a ticking sound that comes from the ceiling whenever I run warm/hot water in the bathrooms on both the main level and upper level of my house.

This ticking has not always existed. The only recent change that I can think of is the installation of a new boiler circulator pump. Could this have something to do with the ticking sounds?

My guess, because it happened to me, is the hot water piped were secured with copper/metal saddles. The pipes expand when hot and contract when cooling. The "ticking" was happening as the pipes moved (ever so slightly) in the saddles/clamps. There is nothing that can be done outside of replacing clamps. Mine didn't make a noise when heating up, just when cooling off. See if your ticking corresponds with either circumstance.

The ticking starts once the water is turned off and is draining/cooling. Were you able to replace clamps to eliminate the ticking sound?

If you had access to the pipes you would simply need to support the pipes with something like these
Polypropylene Suspension Pipe Clamp or whatever it takes to allow the motion to occur quietly.
