I have a Price/Pfister single handle kitchen faucet with a peculiar problem. The faucet is about fire years old and recently started acting strangely. If I turn the faucet on after it has been sitting for 15-20 minutes, I get full flow immediately. If I turn the faucet off for a few seconds and then turn it back on the flow is reduced by half. If I use the hose sprayer while the faucet is on, the flow goes back to full strength immediately. I tried replacing the valve insert with a new one (under warranty) but the problem persists. I do not have this problem with any other faucet in the house. Ideas?

Lol frodo
Im with rickyman replace diverter and cartridge again(grease it up)if it fails demand a new unit from manufacture

Funny story about price Pfister faucets. When I was about 25 years old, I started working in the plumbing supply store. We sold price Pfister faucets and parts. I said price Pfister? whoever heard of that? I’ve heard of Gerber, I’ve heard of Sterling, I’ve heard of American Standard.
Well don’t you know the next time I went to visit my parents at the house that I spent my whole life at, we have a price Pfister faucet in the kitchen this whole time.
I guess I didn’t do much faucet reading back then. Lol.

I'm sure Pfister will provide a new diverter tee under warranty but I don't understand how that will fix the problem. It just looks like a tee fitting. What is there to go wrong?

It’s not a tee, it’s a little cartridge. It’s under the main cartridge in faucet or some faucets you have to remove the spout to get to it.

Pfister sent me a new diverter under warranty but it's plastic, My original was brass, Did they send the wrong part?

If it is the right shape and fits, I prefer the plastic in this application.

Got the part but I'm not smart enough to remove the old one. Any disassembly tips?

Call Pfister faucets back and have them give you technical assistance on how to replace the diverter. The phone person sometimes has to run to check with a tech so it takes a little bit of time but they've always been good at answering my questions.
