Hey all,

Just recently noticed that suds are coming out of the vent. Everything is draining fine. Is this just a case of using a soap that’s too “sudsy?”

Or... is there something else going on?

Thanks in advance!

Please note: I changed to using Kirkland signature liquid soap several months ago.

discovered that its called an AAV, and they can actually go bad. replaced it easily with a new AAV because the valve is threaded.

why do you have an aav instead of a vent out the roof?

this is a common problem when dishwashers and clothes washers are used

the aav is not high enough, it needs to be minimum up to the bottom of the cabinet top
preferably it should be 6'' above the top of the sink.
