Hi all.

New member here from New Zealand.

Currently renovating my first home and have just fitted a new shower.

Ive used the original female brass fitting behind the wall and just re positioned them slightly to fit my new external mixer tap.
The shower is all in now and i have used a single piece PVC shower liner. so gaining access to the brass fittings behind the wall is not going to be possible unless i take the whole shower out again which i REALLY dont want to do!!

I was under the house a few days ago and noticed the floor under the shower was damp, my guess was the pipework behind the wall was leaking somewhere and making its way down to the floor (obviosuly..)
So i went investigating. i removed the covers for the two pipes coming out of the wall into my external mixer, took the silicone out and noticed the cold fitting was leaking slightly.
I refitted the mixer tap with hemp rather than thread tape in the hope that it would do more to fix the leak, it did. But still hasn't resolved it!

I am now thinking that the brass fitting itself may be split.
I am hesitant to just try and reseat with MORE hemp incase i make the crack worse.....
As i mentioned earlier gaining access to the fitting to replace would require the whole shower to come out.
And access from behind is also not possible

I had an idea of using a metal epoxy, similar to JB Weld.
Im aware this is not a preferred fix but im wondering am i completely wasting my time or is it worth giving it a go and keeping an eye on it for a week with the covers kept off?

Thanks for any inputor ideas you may have

Whats on the wall behind the shower faucet. Is there a closet or hallway maybe? If so, you can open the wall
and put an access panel in after repairing the leak that probably will not stop. It will just rotten your floor if not
fixed. The only other suggestion is to take the piece apart that's leaking and put teflon tape and pipe on. This may
stop your leak.
