Hello,

I am moving a PVC plumbing vent on my shower drain as part of a bathroom remodel. the only problem is that all of the fittings near the plumbing vent have basically no pipe between them. How do I remove the plumbing vent and tie back into the drain if there is no extra pipe between fittings to tie onto? Is the only way to cut it all off at the vertical pipe and start from scratch? There is not a lot of pipe sticking out on the vertical section so I hope that is not the only way. Picture of my situation attached.

Thanks in advance.

You can CAREFULLY cut the bell of the fitting, and peel it off. Had to do it several times. If you do it right, just take a utility knife across where everything was glued so you have clean pipe to work with. Cut the bell down to the pipe, without cutting into the pipe under it. If you make a notch, and it comes off, the rest should come off easily enough.

I like that idea, I'm going to give it a go and hopefully I am able to save the pipe in the fitting.

thanks!
