A few years ago I had the septic emptied. A few months after that I had all new leach lines installed which included doubling the length. Had no problems until this year when I got a backup. My laundry room has an exit point for backups (poor poor house design) so when ever there's a clog, everything in the house backs up into my laundry room. I opened the clean-out at the end of the porch, nothing in particular came out. Plumber came out and snaked it. Again nothing spectacular other then a small amount of kitchen grease so my wife and were extra careful making sure no kitchen grease went down the sink. Starting last night, backing up again. I am at a complete loss as to what the heck is happening. I'm waiting for a plumber to call back, hopefully they can come today and this time I've requested a video camera to see if there is a collapsed pipe or a crack under the house. Does anybody have any other ideas or suggestions as to what's going on? I'm so frustrated.
Thanks.

It definitely sounds like your issue is in your inlet line leading out to your tank, everything else should be fine on that end since you just had it pumped and repaired. curious have you had your issue fixed?

Thank you, Ryan for the follow-up. Last Tuesday I had the tank emptied. 1000 gallon tank was filled to the top.
Yesterday after three of us took showers I had this.
I can't believe this tank filled up in six days. After a couple of hours it was gone. About three or four feet above that is a trench that's appeared that too was filled with water. That water went away about the same time.

I hate to tell you this but your drainlines are not working. If your tank filled up over the inlet line and is standing on top of the septic lid where they pumped all ready then your drain lines are basically taking little if ANY water. I would try contacting whoever you had repair your lines last and see if there is something they can do to help you out since it was installed a relatively short time ago

Oh I did. The company was sold since the work was done so they won't warranty what the previous owner did. To come out and stick a shovel in the ground it's $225.00.

Just to make sure I'm reading this correctly, are you saying you actually looked in the tank after six days and saw it was filled again? Or did you assume it was because of all the water you show in the picture?

It doesn't take long for the tank to fill up, (gallons add up fast). BTW the tank is virtually full all the time, your drain field is not dissipating the water properly or possibly a broken or collapsed pipe exiting the tank to the leach field?

is your tank t going out broken? Out of tank that is

So the tank (1000 gallons) was emptied a week ago today. By Sunday when I took the pictures I posted above, there was water in the dirt above the tank lid after three of us took showers.
The drain field/leach field was replaced and made longer in November 0f 2017 so not even two years ago. The guy that did that work and owned the company has since sold it and moved to another state. The current owners will not warranty any of the work he did so just to come stick a shovel in the ground it's going to cost me another $225.00.
That's on top of the almost $800.00 I paid to have a section of pipe replaced three weeks ago, and the $225.00 I just paid to have the septic emptied.

I repeat, "Just to make sure I'm reading this correctly, are you saying you actually looked in the tank after six days and saw it was filled again? Or did you assume it was because of all the water you show in the picture?"

No, i'm not saying that at all. I'm saying a week after it WAS emptied, there was water in the dirt ABOVE the tank after three of us took showers. That dirt was freshly shoveled back into place by my son and I just an hour before the picture I posted above was taken so it was dry.

Okay, so the tank may not have been filled, in which case the water may have been from a broken inlet pipe.(Not saying it was, just that that possibility hasn't been eliminated as yet.)
That would have been a good time to see what the level in the tank was. Particularly since you had not flowed enough from the house(presumably) to fill it.
