Hi all, I'm new and I need help. My mom passed and I am at her house to go through things. While cleaning using the kitchen sink the water was going down slowly. When I stopped up the one side, the water went down faster in the other at times. She has had 3 plumbers out that just say " yea these Mobile homes are noted for that problem". Uh ok? One company did snake which didn't solve the problem but it did help a little. Another said it was the pitch which I'm probably not using the right word. I tried to plunge it because at one point I was running so much water it was taking forever to drain. No change. Now the pipes are leaking. I just want to get this fixed. I have no idea what I'm doing but with the right help I can get through this. I'm attaching a picture in hopes someone will be able to spot the problem and help me. Thank you20190111_213510_HDR.jpg

To try to clear the clog, loosen the two nuts above the U shaped pipe, but have a bucket or some other container under it to catch the water. If the clog is not in the U shoped pipe, leave it off, and run a snake in the open pipe to try and clear it.

To correct the leaks, you simply tighten each of the plastic nuts.

You have an auto vent on the sink. Can see it. It's the upside down ice cream cone in the back of the cabinet. Take that off. It unthreads. If it drains perfectly (without overflowing). Replace that part. Thats the easiest. Those center waste tees can degrade over time, allowing water to backwash ( only if draining a full sink or running the disposer). Lastly, if none of those work, separate them on the drain line. Meaning run each side of the sink SEPARATELY into the drain. That is the last resort though. One of the first 2 should resolve the issue. Also, that auto vent is definitely not above flood level. Something to look into later.

All this being said if you had a reputable company snake the drain line.

pitch is a good word, It is actually called Fall, But Pitch works just as good

Heres the deal, If the pipe does not have "pitch" and is flat. or level
then the grease, soap, mac n cheese or what ever Mom was dumping in the sink will not get carried away
it will just sit in one spot,
You need to crawl under the trailer, locate the drain pipe
and put a level on it. i marked the level where the bubble needs to be

If the bubble is in the middle "flat" you will need to lift up one end
that will require cutting the pipe where it comes through the floor on the horizontal pipe under the sink

Thank you for your information and drawing .
Ok after picking myself off the floor from laughing so hard I had this overwhelming love for plumbers and the work they do.lol I will look under the trailer and see how far under the pipe is. Then probably cry. I tried to snake it but was unsuccessful. I did get about 20 feet in but by pushing and pulling and turning and having that appreciation thing again. I was going to try it again but it wouldn't go in. Is it supposed to go through easy? I think I need help just scared I'm gonna get conned like she did.

Are you are putting the snake in from where you removed the U shaped trap?

Yes but it's a bear getting it to go down. It took me a good 5 min just to get it past the top. When I pulled it out it wasn't all gross just about the first 5 feet. I just can't get it to go back down plus my arms are tired. You just take the thing and put it in the pipe and when it won't go turn the handle right? I'm sorry guys I'm really trying. Please tell me when it's time to give up.lol

Again, if you are trying to snake it from inside the sink, you are making the job much more difficult. If you try removing the trap, and still can't get it, it's probably time to call a pro.

Have you tried taking the threaded part of the vent off? Those fail over time and need changed.

I am not, I took the two nuts loose like suggested and am trying to go straight back into pipe.

If it's clogged. It would overflow out of the auto vent, once you get the top part off.
