Washing Machine Drain Problem

Just purchased a house with old iron pipes. Had a camera snaked through the house but the plumber didnt scope the washer drain before purchasing.

So now I have a clogged washing machine drain. I called home warranty and they sent out a plumber. He tried to snake the iron stand pipe but it was still clogged. He came back today and poured Clobber down the drain and now the whole house smells like sulfur.

Question:

Is it dangerous for me to try and flush the pipe with water. I am afraid if there is standing Clobber in the drain it will spray out and hit me.

So I ended up trying to flush drain with water. A sludge of sulfuric acid started bubbling up out of the drain! Called a plumber and they snaked it and they thought they unclogged, but every time they tried to flush with water the acid bubbled up out of the drain. What a mess.

Never again will I let someone pour **** down my drain.

We use clubber here on the urinals in small batches and works great. We also let it work for 12 hours, not sure how long you let it go for.

Be careful with that clobber as I ended up in the emergency room for 4 hours because a lady didn't tell
me she poured two bottles of that stuff in her double kitchen sink water. Like CT18, you have to know
how to use it properly.

Sounds like the pipes have a fair amount of build up inside the iron pipe. If there’s enough in there it can block the flow and the only way to fix it is cutting out the problem area and repiping it.

I know this is old, but my sons house had virtually the same scenario, except, the guy that came out snaked the washer line and found nothing. Wanted his 65 bucks and left. When we inquired about the blockage he said he could not go on the roof to snake the vent line without a second helper and 100 bucks more.

We called and complained and got our initial 65 back. Went on the roof, dropped a snake down it and hit a dirt dabbers nest! Problem resolved!
