Interesting design:

I was doing a search to hear reviews on Korky v. Fluidmaster and ran across the Niagara.

Re the Korky, I've used the Fluidmaster for a long time but recently went with a Korky as it fit better in an older version of the Toto one piece ultra eco max I was repairing. It worked fine and I was wondering if maybe I've had it wrong all these years.

I'll keep looking for opinons on that.

they still selling those. I thought they were Glacier Bay _ HomeD exclusive.
Seen a couple. Odd ducks but don't really have any knowledge on their dependability or longevity.

Struck me as a bit odd also. But they do have a point - no flapper to go bad, also can have a handle on either side. Probably should just have one on both sides.

But other things will likely go bad sooner or later. A moveable plastic part holding about 10 lbs of water. Something likely to go all stress fracture n' chit. And then, who woulda thought: leak!

If the tank is properly engineered it will last forever. I would be willing to use them.

And if you want to check the effectiveness of a flush: Use drier lint, and a few packing peanuts. Drop in the drier lint, and stir it a bit so it is a bunch of separate little strands. Drop in a few peanuts. Then flush.

If it all goes away you have a good flush.

I’ve been using Korkys instead of fluidmasters for about 8 years now. I don’t remember the last time I bought a fluid master

I’ve been sticking with fluidmaster, for years on the Forest because the hardware stores, and lumber yards in the towns we work out of stock fluidmaster, and I can get them through GSA vendors, at twice the supply house price.

I've not had any real problems with Fluidmaster, other than scale sometimes getting caught in that rubber membrane at the top, I guess that's the main shut off seal. Not hard to clean out, now and then I worry that I'm twisting it wrong and will break something.

Haven't used enough Korkys to know what the corollary with them is for that. They're more compact and with less stuff out in the open to accidentally get hung up somehow.

Same, I’m primarily Fluidmaster for everything. I only use Korky on the short tank Toto that needs the large bowl fill/rinse tube.
