Hi Everyone!

The pressure running from my house to my WC toilet (50') means the water line has even further to go. The shower works but once a day it stops for a minute and then comes on again maybe 30-60 seconds on. Or generally goes weak for a bit then strong. Sometimes gurglinging then it comes through. Although no leaks or air is permitted into the system, at it was all exposed with no leaks at all, the pipe is 3/4 or 1 inch from memory, so I'm stumped. I'm certain the issue is inadequate pressure so my question is

1. what model or type of tank or pump should I get. It's only a small apt, but will have a shower. Are there in line booster pumps or should I go holding tank with built in pressure?

2. Will the new hot water tank I install help with pressure? As the current system is an ON DEMAND unit, that may be struggling?

3. Should cold line go to pressure tank or device, Then to hot water heater? Or can I just put a pressure device for cold, and the new not on demand hot water tank will eliminate some of this? Is there built in pressure with a hot water tank?

I feel pressure could be bad for both hot and cold. At the same time when bbn you open the tap. Water comes out alright! But maybe not as strong as in the house.

Links to products esp lowes or home depot appreciated. But I can order the parts.

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest that you properly test the available flow vs. pressure you have available at/or near your incoming service, before you jump to any conclusions.
In other words, test static pressure(pressure with no flow) and then test pressure at a know high flow rate.
The results should either confirm or refute your suspicion of inadequate pressure.
If you find that a booster pump will help your problem, this flow vs pressure info will allow a selection of a pump system.

I suggest an on site plumber. Pay the trip fee. Most don’t mind giving a quick trip for advise. But I lost ya on the description and likely to lead you down wrong road. Sounds like your check valve went bad allowing water to fall back down or there is a leak just before pump check valve allowing water to fall. Sometimes a check in between pump and tank can remedy this for a few years. But sounds like pump needs pulled and checked. I pulled one 4 times to finally notice that the steel threads inside pump were made into a collar and then pressed into pump housing. That collar had a millimeter of wiggle to it. Set it in a barrel and you could watch the pressure push out around collar. So there was my drop causing “ air sounds “. Put in a check valve right there and we have been 6 months with no return trip. You can put a check in between pump and tank and see if that solves issue then start budgeting for pump. Or start back a square one. Lol sorry hope I helped.

I guess I was out in left field.
I didn't understand that this guy already has a pump. Thought he was asking about improving his pressure problems by getting one.
