Oh, I'm sure it has been getting water in there for quite awhile. I'm hoping to see what I can do to get things lined up better and stabilize the pipes so they don't move. Still haven't gotten to finishing the hole due to schedule conflicts with family-- need to find a time when mother is not in bed & bro is actually up & willing to help me move furniture. I'm sadly too much of a candy a** to move it by myself & I get winded easily.
Been taking cold showers in the meantime-- which are not fun.
I'm going to try different saws to get the job done. Hopefully tomorrow (actually later today) I can make another attempt. I don't know if I can make a very small groove in the stud to shove the access panel in or if I will have to trim the plastic to go around the stud. It was designed for drywall, but we have 1/8" thick wood paneling for walls.
I really need to stop procrastinating.
