Mr_David, thanks for the link! I've been trying to decide between a side sprayer or pull down. Do you happen to know the height & reach of that one you linked? I didn't see it in the specs. I want to make sure it would clear the taller stuff without having to hold/remove the sprayer. I need to measure my current one-- it's actually a bit too low for my tastes-- although just by a fraction. Any info on how the sprayer works? My sister has a similar looking one that operates by touch as well as moving the lever. It was a bit of a pain to work with but something that would probably get easier with more use.
I was looking at
these options, but still completely undecided. My sink has 4 holes (and somehow that just sounds dirty).
Costco is a pretty cool company-- they pay their workers very well & give them good benefits. Happiest employees I've met. I think minimum wage they pay is something like $15/hr, but quite a few get $20/hr. Not sure if that is what they pay the ones at the one Costco in Louisiana. Until recent years, there wasn't one here but they built one. We have a ton of Sam's Clubs but only that 1 Costco a few hours away. I haven't been to it yet though-- been to one near my sister in Albuquerque though. Very helpful employees there.
Frodo, I am absolutely drooling over those ribs. Those look so good. Beans & potato salad on the side?
Today I watched in realtime an event I will call "the plight of the carpenter ant". Was outside in the hot weather-- heat index 111-- but under a car port. Watched a carpenter ant trying to move a grain of rice that had been in some beef stew. For 10 min it struggled trying to find a way to get it unstuck from the pavement. Just when it finally made progress, the little yorkiepoo (this was at a friend's house) came up, nudged the ant aside with her nose, and ate the rice. The ant completely lost it's mind & started running around in circles in a total panic, trying to figure out what had just happened. My friend's gf took pity on the ant & found another smaller piece of rice that she put down in front of it. At first it started to run away, then it realized it was food. It stopped, examined it, lifted it, and then happily tried to re-trace it's steps back to the nest. It made it off the pavement, into the grass, and disappeared under some leaves. As an aside, I lost my TV remote & have been bored as hell & it's been too hot to do anything outside (other than watch ants apparently).
We still have the fire ant problem in the house. I've been trying to do some cleanup but my back is not cooperative & my brother has been sleeping most of the time. He crashed hard after unloading the cat litter & the packages from Mom's Amazon Prime day shopping spree.
My old red dog is doing even better. She's much happier and although she isn't 100% & still has bladder leak issues, she is moving around more & seems to have more energy. She keeps rushing in to the living room-- which is colder than the rest of the house, but it's easier to get her to move now that she can stand up on her own. The cats are not happy about her eating their food, but she's old & it makes her happy so they can deal with it. Fippy is slowly and begrudgingly having to learn to deal with other dogs in the house.
I tried to upload pics of my hot water knob (for the shower) but they didn't go for some reason. I'll have to try again later. Still trying to figure out the best way to fix it. And I need to do laundry but since it's in the hottest area of the house (no insulation back there), I've been procrastinating bc I feel like I'm entering a sauna & get overheated. I'm a wuss. LOL.
I did get some cleanup done in the living room today though, so that was progress. I need to be more active though-- and I need to stop eating so many cookies.
