House is located on top of a hill. It has a well with a septic tank. A wedding event is taking place and there is some concern about usage. It will be about a two or three hour event with about 60 people. There will be some food and drinks at the event. The house has three bathrooms but only two will be available for guests. Will this cause strain on the system? Should a porta potty be rented? Trying to avoid renting one to save costs on wedding.

It depends on how good the septic system is to start with. I would probably have the tank pumped before the event. We had a similar wedding out in the country recently. Put a sign on the toilets asking people to use as little paper as possible, and told the guys to find a tree. :)

The septic system is three years old (brand new house). It is a septic tank that does not require to be pumped out.

As long as the drain field can take it you will probably be alright. There is no gauge on a septic system, so you won't know anything is wrong until water starts pouring out from under the bathroom door.
