Hot water coming through cold faucet

Hi, I just had my basement bathroom remodeled and now I have anywhere from Luke warm to hot water coming through the cold faucet in the sink. It does get cold at times but will get warm again. The shower which is a new single handle moen Adler, has hot water around 108 degrees on full hot setting then after a minute is cools down to around 80s. If I turn the shower handle to the cold side and wait a minute and turn it back to hot, the water comes out hot again for a minute and goes right back to cool again. All of my water fixtures in other rooms do not have this problem. They all work fine. Now I read about Moen having this issue with the cartridge so I got a new posi temp cartridge and seemed to fix the problem after it was working for about 5 min after install. Now I go downstairs and try it again and it's back to the same problem. Even before the remodel, my water heater had been leaking from the t&p valve about 2 gallons every other day. I put a new valve in and it still drips but only a few ounces a day now. I did notice the cold water inlet into the water heater was hot at one point but it is cold now. I had a leak in the bathroom shower plumbing but my contractor put new piping in. I don't know what is causing this issue. If anyone has any idea I would appreciate any help. Thank you

if its a single handle faucet shut off the water under the sink then check the shower sometimes single handle faucets will cause that

ok that rules that out

if you just had it done have you had the plumber back???? if there were no problems before this its something that happened during the remodel

like the other poster says before the relief valve really leaks either lower the temp if its to hot or replace
the t/p valve

The sink is a double handle and shower is single.

OK are you just going to ignore the t&p on the water heater? They drip for a reason.

What’s yer water pressure

I would say you have a pressure issue and it is causing a mixing issue in one of your fixtures. These fixtures are not rated for higher pressures especially the washers.

do you have an expansion tank on your hot water heater? if its bad the t and p will leak

Is there any possibility the tubing for the cold water facet was routed though your attic? My neighbor had leaking issues with tubing that was run under the cement slab when his house was built . He had the entire house re-tubed with plastic tubing. Much of the new tubing was run though the attic, Depending on the time of the year, he has warm water running from his cold water facets.
