Bad Vibrations

In a nutshell there is a very loud vibration noise coming from one of the header tank pipes (exiting the tank). The pip is shaking very badly and I can feel moving in my hand.

From what I have read I thought it might be water hammer, however yesterday it was non-stop for over 15 mins so less sure it could be that.

I realise it is going to be very hard to diagnose but I have uploaded a video which hopefully shows the problem well enough that somebody might be able to advise...

Turn up your volume up as the recording is not great (trust me it's as loud as a lorry in real life!)

They are reasonably well strapped down prob just not shown very well shown in the vid. I could try strapping them down more, but when I grabbed the pipe in my hands it didn't make much of a difference to the noise.

I may be mistaken, but i think you said the pipe is visabily shaking in your hand ?

if a pipe is shaking the vibration is transfered to what ever it is tied to.

in your case the tank. if you isolate the pipe from the tank the noise will disapear.

It's a good suggestion but unfortunately i do not think the pipes shaking is the source of the noise itself. Something appears to be going wrong which has the side effect that the pipes vibrate. I'm trying to tackle the root cause but I don't know what it is

Follow the noise .Sometimes it's a bad prv valve or ball valve at the front of the house.
