Hello, I had a pipe burst connected to the hose, the pipe burst inside. I cut the pipe to put a sharkbite on and found another smaller diameter hose or something inside the copper pipe. Any idea what this is?
Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot!
Oh I see that’s the part u are asking if I cut, yes it would be that part as it goes right out of the house. If I buy a new one like the one u posted, I should be able to just swap it out. Any tips on removing the old one? There is loctite or similar and I’d quite difficultIs that pipe within 12" of the exterior wall? If so, im guessing it is a frost-proof sillcock you cut into.View attachment 29913
It looks threaded in to me and I can see thread tape when I look close. You sure it is not soldered?
Any tip on unscrewing it? It’s on there pretty good. And when replacing it, should I measure the threads here to the wall for an estimate? I see mostly 8 and 12 inch lengths mostlyYeah, remove it and screw another one in. Easy job.
Oh sorry, also the size, the current pipe measures 7/8” OD, so 3/4 inner if I’m right, so I should be looking for 3/4 male threads?Yeah, remove it and screw another one in. Easy job.
Or perhaps these r all standard sized?Oh sorry, also the size, the current pipe measures 7/8” OD, so 3/4 inner if I’m right, so I should be looking for 3/4 male threads?

Ok im sorry for going crazy here. But i found this 0.75” by 12”. I think I’ll swap out with this if I can remove the old pipe.
Thanks a lot everyone! Any tip on removing the old one? I don’t have a blowtorch to heat it. Or just keep trying to wrench away at it? The loctite or plumbers tape has done it’s job let’s just say that…Remove yours and measure it’s length.
I just ordered twoI’d use two 14” pipe wrenches on that. One as a back up and one to turn.
