Is that illegal?
Also, a plumber put that valve in. I thought it was ok
Cutting the hubs would be illegal. You also have a sanitary tee on its side. That’s illegal in the drainage system.

The backwater valve looks fine to me. Some take issue with the type rubber connector but in that situation it’ll be fine.

I prefer a fully shielded coupling and that’s what a lot of codes require now. Don’t lose any sleep over it.

Tees are never allowed on their sides nor backs. Tees only allowed vertically. in your case it is also pointed wrong direction to boot.
The shower drain should be tied in on the vertical anyway.

The santee is going the wrong way and should be a combo. Cutting the hubs like that is asking for a leak. They're the depth the are for a reason.

More fun for y’all 🤣
Thanks for the guidance so far.
if you do face time consultation, message me $$

90s are wrong
there are 4 types of 90s.
what you want is dwv, sch 40, that is not what you have

here is the code on 90,s you use a long sweep when transition from vertical to horizontal and a short sweep or long sweep from vertical to horizontal
We use long sweeps exclusively in the drainage system.

Especially from horizontal to horizontal direction changes.

Does the shower have to have a U trap? I can’t fit currently because of joist!!!

Yes, it has to have a P-trap. The vent pipe isn’t suppose to make a 90’s below the toilet like that.

Usually the vent pipe comes up in the wall and that left hand Wisconsin fitting would be under the wall.

a trap must be placed some place and vented. Some codes allow for running traps, that’s where the trap isn’t located directly beneath the fixture.

In my area an engineer can put his stamp of approval on a plumbing system and they can’t turn it down. In fact I can hire a private inspector.

Of course the engineer is responsible for any problems associated with the design.

Most of the plumbers around here don’t even know that.....

The casinos when built installed 4’ long chrome plated trap weirs......for lavatories.
YES 4 FEET 😂😂😂

Frodo,
Can y’all install a running trap ? We can if needed to save integrity of the building.

Pretensioned concrete slabs in high rise condos. I installed 25 walk in tubs. Helper wanted to “ cut these cables out of the way to install the trap “

OOO GOD NO !!!!!

NO running traps allowed.
If I have 25 condos with a cable under each tub drain. There would be an RFI generated
for the engineer to answer where can the cable be cut. I would not take that responsibility or liability
of that call. CYA LOL

simple fix. flip the tub head

No cables can be cut. These were condos on the Gulf of Mexico. Hurricane proof.

you can’t flip the tub that would put your drain on the opposite side of the room with even more cables to cut.

There’s no liability in a running trap that works. However there is ALL the liability for cutting cables. 😬

This was a renovation. But I see running traps in condos all the time. There’s nothing you can do but put it back like it was, but really it works so there’s no reason to change it. These Are 60 yr old condos so saying it doesn’t work would be silly.

.
cables in a post tension plank are around 24'' apart and the all run in the same direction
cables in a slab run both ways and are 2' 0r 3' apart.
move the tub over 4'' and you miss a cable.
However at UCCS [University Colorado Colorado Springs } engineer said a certain amount could be cut. depending on location. because we were cutting the crap out of them on the honors Dorms. these were precast
with holes and cables
