I had a dry well drain for my kitchen sink and washing machine that started to run slower and slower. Contacted the local town and was informed I could not repair I had to reconfigure the drains in the house and tie into my septic system. Because the washer is in the basement it required a Drain pump with a vent attached. The first load of laundry when the pump came on there was a horrific smell coming from the septic(?). How do I prevent this in the future?

The drywall is capped, I have a vent thru the roof for the existing drains in the house and a vent on the new drain pump but it is open to the basement with a double 90 degree bend. There is an air admittance valve under the kitchen sink which is now tied into the main drain.

If your pump has an open pipe to the atmosphere that is your smell is there a vent in the basement that could be connected to?????
