I have this toilet that every few days wont remove the waste. I installed the toilet after a bathroom remodel which included new drain lines to septic. Its a 3 gallon toilet that i've been saving for a good long time, like 20 yrs (i bought 2 when i built the first house). I think when in the thick of the remodel, when the toilet was in the garage, i failed to cover the flush inlet opening(?). Now I think the channels in the bowel got clogged from the sawdust tannin. At this point, im swimming in this sob with a 12 wire prod trying to clear the jet hole and the rim holes. I snaked the sob today and the trapway is clean. Sooo, im not really asking on how to clean this thing out (unless there *is a way) to salvage this commode, But some advice on the least problematic toilet to replace it with. So far I'm considering the AS Champion max 1.28 from the depot, the Champion pro from the plumbing supply house, or the Kohler Cimmeron. tanks in advance.

Kohler, toto are what we use in large university in boston toto is better but they are both great.....i dont like the 1.28gpf they do clig a little easier
You coulfill the jets with vinagar i think you would have to tape off the underside tim pour it in and let it sit overnite

Ill try vinegar in the spring as we have only one bath ty. Before i Posted I tried compressed air underwater into the jet and the rest and its very good again for now. Its like a tragic comedy.

Buy a toilet snake and clean out the trap.

My favorite is the six foot long one from Ridgid.

Home Depot carries it.

Clients call me with their theories about why stuff won’t flush, but snaking is often the answer.

Before posting this thread, I did get a cheap husky toilet snake from the depot and ran it through. The snake didnt seem to meet any resistance and came out clean, but could have been a clean obstruction After that I did the compressed air into the jet and rim holes along with the 12 wire prod act. Something did the trick. Unsure which, but im basking in the glory. For now.. This has been going on since the bathroom remodel 1.5 yrs (die hard). Im resistant on the new commode because 1.28. Should have got the Toto Drake 1.6 when they were available. I feel better getting and testing a 1.28 and having the option to revert if need be. I would like to use less water since im on a well.

You are right about the 1.28 vs 1.6 the more water going down the drain the better
