Geek info here but maybe some of you will be interested but first: the kid's parents were present, they thought it was absolutely safe to film or wouldn't have let it happen. I was personally there too and having run pistol grip augers for 20 years and the Ergo Auger for 4 years I just know how safe it is; any person (above the age of 18 of course) is in a far safer position than same person running a pistol grip auger because utter lack of fatigue. The design keeps the user strong and able to handle the machine. Also, placement of grip allows for super leverage over the machine. When I say "get some leverage" it's not just a slogan to dupe buyers; if one uses a K-45 and then uses the Ergo Auger in the same application one immediately understands how powerful it is, relative to the old way...money back from Ergo Auger if one doesn't agree. It's the reason why a lot of guys say it'll cut job time in half and make it up to 75% "easier".
It does in fact look like a good design that makes it much easier all around. Additionally, the fact that you must keep your finger on the trigger(I assume) makes it automatically shut off if anything at all happens.

Yes, it has a "dead man's" switch.

Looks interesting. What is the variation in the height adjustment, and is this suitable for toilet bowls? Is pumice necessary to clean scratches in the bowl?

Thanks for asking! Adjustability is close to 5" with five settings. No, do not use this in a toilet; buy a "toilet auger" for that job. You'll ruin the porcelain finish could even destroy your cable.

It looks interesting sure, but it handles like a dream; because of the massive leverage it gives the user over the job/tool. Thats why a six year old handling the Ergo can make an adult professional with a traditional drain gun look profoundly unathletic. Check out our ergoauger.com for the drill unit or Gorlitz.com for the drill/drum/cable package. Get some leverage, get an Ergo Auger!
