Bought a new (to me) house and need to replace the DW.

What brand or model for less than $700-800?

Normal 24" under cabinet type.

What color are you looking for? White, black, stainless steel or other?
Are there any particular features you're looking for?
24" is the height?

In terms of customer reviews, KitchenAid seems to have some of the best reviews. Maytag, Whirlpool, & Bosch seem pretty high on the ratings lists.

There's a KitchenAid one on sale for $649 @ Lowes. https://www.lowes.com/pd/KitchenAid...-Inch-Actual-23-875-in-ENERGY-STAR/1000398365
and @HomeDepot https://www.homedepot.com/p/Kitchen...less-with-ProWash-46-dBA-KDFE104HPS/304613078 (for $648)

I can't really speak from personal experience on dishwashers since I don't use one.

I hope this helps a little though.

I've had my dishwasher for over 52 years. Never had a dish washing machine, however. When my wife and I move into a house that had one, she had it removed.

Bosch. They are quiet and do a good job. A little speedy but every one I’ve installed the people seem really happy and I’m happy with ours.

We have a Bosch. They have a small dot of light shinning on the floor to let you know its running. My wife loves it.

Some people do not know this, but if you remove the top or side [depending on model]
door trim strip, you can slide the front panel out, and flip it over
BOOM color change...I have seen doors with 3 panels inside of them that is 6 colors

I would say Bosch as well. Bosch is rated the best dishwasher as far as clean dishes goes. Also look for a lower end model. Preferably one without "water saving" or "energy saving" they clean much better. Kitchenaid sucks along with their no-customer support.

I've heard that people love Bosch but, that it can be difficult finding service people in some areas and repairs are expensive. Do a search for Bosch service in your area before making a decision. Both local appliance repair services I called recommended Whirlpool.

I spent a lot of time researching dishwashers a couple years ago. Bosch had a high reputation, but more than one dealer warned me off them. I did online digging as well, and all too many reviews showed negative comments about problems with their machines, as well as, horrible to no help from Bosch.
I ended buying a KitchenAid, model kdfe, 204ebl1. It is quite quiet, whisper quiet. There was a models model, but it wasn't worth the price differential to me. I am extremely satisfied with our washer!

How long have you had the KA ? I have a Superba KDS-19 from the 80's which was working pretty good until the drain impeller broke. I replaced it but, must have got a seal in wrong and it leaked all over the place.
I'm going to give it another go at fixing it and then look for a replacement if I can't get it working.

Our KA washer is three years old. It has a larger capacity than it's predecessor, so, on average, some dishes sit in it for four days. Yet, all the dishes come out perfectly clean. Best of luck with your repair attempt!

Do everything you possibly can to keep that running! It is infinitely better than any model KA sells today.

Most brands are made from the same manufacturer.
I prefer kitchenAid looks and db.
You pretty much get what you pay for as far as quality goes.
Good luck.
