I was washing dishes last night and then when I walked outside I saw soap suds and a glass of milk I dumped down the drain directly on the other side of the wall where the sink is. What's going on here and how urgent is it I call a plumber?

Thanks in advance

My mistake. With the crack in the foundation I assumed it was a crawlspace. Slab not basement.

Do you only see water when the kitchen is used?

Yes it's only when the kitchen sink/dishwasher are used. Im worried the pipe going out of the kitchen sink ruptured. On the other hand I read something online where a guy said older homes (Mines a heavily remodeled 1957) use to drain the kitchen sink into a cesspool to alleviate septic tank load. Which was common in clay soils like where we are in Maryland.

I reread your post you say your lawn only is wet when you use your kitchen.....its not wet all the time if that's the case the cesspool post may be right your gonna have to dig anyway so you will find out
