Just got a top loader samsung washing machine. The drain hose appears to be too narrow to fit onto the connector on the washing machine. Any quick fixes?

soak the hose in hot water to make it pliable/soft

The illustrated instructions showed the drain hose with a 90 degree elbow
do you have the hose turned around backwards?

The instructions may be generic to all models, If you do not have a 90,,do not stress

And you might want to turn that squeeze clamp around the other way so it won't be hitting the machine before it gets completely on that nipple.

Didn't the drain hose come with the machine?

That hot water should expand it a bit as well.

Will try this - hot tap water okay? Or does it need to be boiling? Here's a pic of the hose (it's pretty bent ...it looks like it'll get twisted when i attach both ends). The connection on the washing machine is in the left-hand corner at the back of the machine - couple of inches off floor.
Pic to follow -too big for server

Thanks for the clamp tip. Yes, hose came with it.

boil some water, then stick the hose in it .
wear gloves, so you do not hurt yourself

steel toe boots
hard hat
safety glasses
ear plugs
3 point harness tied off to a retractable line
alert the medical team and electric company to be on standby
