Hot water line connecting 2 hot water tanks started leaking after water softener installed yesterday. Perhaps coincidence. Tanks 7 years old. Plumber replaced lines and connector but it started to leak worse in the exact same spot even though lines replaced. Help please.

You are there, we are not. A more detailed description and a few pictures would help.

Yeah we need pictures. The new steel tank has already busted or the lines coming off heater are leaking. Sounds like roto rooter been to your house. They never look up to see if anything else leaking. Just replace the tank.

Here is the leak. There are 2 braided lines linking the hot water tanks together. It is leaking in the same spot as the lines it replaced. They are brand new.

On flex lines??? I am not a plumber, but do plenty of plumbing work. It was my understanding that you should NEVER use pipe dope or Teflon tape on flex line fittings, since that could impede the rubber washer from sealing correctly.
Try using teflon tape and pipe dope not just dope

I'm not saying go nuts on it but it might work or the flex lines were tightened to tight and ripped the washers that could be why its leaking
