It might. It is what almost every farm in the area has if they dont have a well. I'm going to look into my optionsGonna be hard to make a suction line work in 2' of water.

I only sorry about it in the spring before I would put the pump in. The water can easily rise 10 feet so anything permanent can take a beating. My favorite would be a Berkeley like the B1.5ZPLS in 10HP with a 7 7/8" impeller trim. The little ditch over to the wet well pit is the best way to keep driftwood and stuff from washing everything away. Out in the main channel stuff can disappear on you.
That could work, I can get my tractor on the bridge and lower something down to.A sub on a little trailer or skies would be good so you could pull it in and out easily.
He is also recommending a 10 hp pump with a 2 inch inlet and 1-1/2" outlet to keep the pressure at 45 psi with 75 feet of lift through 4 inch pipe. Does this sound normal to you?Not unusual at all. Just a 6" foot valve will need much more submergence than a 2" foot valve. A solid plate on the top of the strainer box will also help keep water from whirl pooling and sucking in air.
I'm waiting on him to get back to me and I will let you knowIf the pump has a 2" suction, you would want a 3" suction hose and foot valve. Same with the 1.5" outlet, you want to go bigger as soon as possible. What pump model number are you looking at? There are lots of different 10HP pumps.
