replace single handle tub faucet cartridge

I am trying t repair the leak bathtub faucet and want to replace the cartridge. I was able to remove the handle and temp control but the sleeve/stop tube is very tight and not able to pull out. i believe the retainer clip will be able to come out only if can pull out the sleeve. I tried to find the model no but i cannot find it anywhere engraved. so question is do i need to pull out the sleeve before i can pull out the cartridge ? as the sleeve is very tight how should i remove it. Please see the picture

That is a Moen. Remove the two screws that hold the cover plate in place, and pull the plate off. Then you should be able to pull the sleeve off.

I removed those 2 screws and face plate and tried to pull the sleeve by hand it did not came off its too tight. Should i try pulling it with plier or other tool with force ?

It should come out by wiggling back and forth.

The sleeve is not attached, only slipped on. Try some PB Blaster if it really will not move.
