Hello folks,
I'm in process of building my own home. Since I'm currently installing the plumbing system...it looks like I'm going to install a hot water recirc pump. I'll be using PEX. And I will be installing a 50 gal gas hot water tank. Since this is not a retro fit..its new construction...if anyone has some install tips that would be great. Also if you can recommend the best recir pump for the money that would be great. My home is a ranch. Thanks for your input.

I use grundros pumps with a flanges. You don't need a big pump.
I like to connect return line to drain cock of water heater.
I prefer to remove the drain cock and install a 3/4" brass nipple and then a threaded ball valve. then a tee for the drain and return line connection.
Somewhere upstream before the pump, you want to install another ball valve. So you can isolate the pump if and when you have to service it, with out having to shut down main water.
They have with sweat ends as well just solder in adapters for pex.
Make sure you install the pump with correct orientation. If using PEX best to mount the pump on the wall.
