CPVC Compression fitting on PEX

I need to cut a pex line into and install a cutoff CPVC valve. Why can't I re connect the pex line by using 3/4 cpvc compression fittings on the 3/4 pex line? They seem to fit tight and would be better in my estimation than shark bites. The rubber seals on the compression give a good fit.

If the connection isn't going to be exposed I would use male and female fittings.

you never want to cover up a compression type fitting...they tend to lesk

Because the PEX pipe does not have the rigidity needed to seal a compression fitting. Never use compression fittings on PEX.

you can always use a pipe insert....
