I'm thinking about get a proper pipe bender and swager i found from checking out videos on youtube. my question is, can you swage a normal 1/2 copper pipe? is that considered soft copper? all the searching i have done about these tools brings up HVAC uses.
thanks in advance

There is soft copper and then there's hard copper. Typically you swage soft copper. You cannot swage hard copper unless you anneal it first. Though I do not recommend doing this.

What would you want the tools for? Most uses will be for HVAC or pneumatic applications. Not a whole lot of used in household plumbing. Like voletl said, the hard temper stuff you need to anneal.

i was asking for house hold water supply. seems like a good way to save on fittings and have less joint that may leak.
