I am finishing my basement and want to put in a wet bar with a 24" sink cabinet. I have no in-floor drains anywhere nearby, but I do have a 2" drain line directly overhead that I can easily break into, so want to plan ahead for an under-sink pump.
My question is what do I need to put in the wall other than than the 1.5" (or 1.25"?) pipe? Should I put a check-valve in there, some of the pumps seem to require one but others have a PVC shutoff valve that needs to be 85% closed (and thus accessible). Should I put a welded trap in the wall too, or instead? What about venting?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If it matters, my plan would be to put a switch under sink cabinet to kill power to pump when bar is not being used (to prevent any issues of continuous or dry-running pump).
