To upgrade some bath fixtures, the tub spout was removed. There is a fitting connected to the wall pipe (see photo) that I'm not sure how it should be removed. It doesn't appear to be fastened by threads. Could it be soldered on instead? Thanks.

The adapter is soldered on, do not remove it. Purchase a new Delta RP5834 or similar Delta spout and it will screw right on without tools. You are fortunate to have the easiest to change tub spout I know of.

Thanks for the quick response. I took the tub set back and brought home a Delta. The spout screws right on.

Did it break like this one?
This adapter is screwed onto a 1/2" brass nipple and maybe even missing an o-ring
