Default Does anyone know this stem?

Hi,

I am wondering whether this stem is for faucet or urinal?
http://www.keyhole.com.tw/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/AM_1116C_Word.jpg

I found similar one and it seems to be part of urinal stop.
http://www.lockeplumbing.com/detail.asp?c=Urinals%20And%20Urinal%20Parts&s=Urin al%20Valve%20Parts&s2=&sku=AME-9101-0240&r1=&r2=&r3=

I know T&S commercial faucet also has a similar stem part:

I think my first link is more like a faucet stem, not for urinal stop.
Does anyone knows?

Thanks!

First off it is a seat, not a stem. Why does it matter what the picture is of? If you have a part to replace tell us what fixture it is from. A urinal and a faucet should look nothing like each other.

I guess it would help to know what you are trying to work on first considering you can drink water out of one and not the other

The 1st pic is a RENU seat for an American Standard faucet.
They are threaded inside the barrel for a left or right hand turn.
Unlike most stems that have the threads for the stem in the bonnet of the valve.
The urinal valve is also American Standard and the reason they look similar,
but MAY not be interchangeable. The Urinal valve is most likely spring loaded with a cam in he handle and the handle can turn left or right to open. Therefore no threads in the seat barrel

T&S similar but not interchangeable. Most commonly use for commercial kitchen Faucets

Hi,

Thanks everyone.

I am not native English speaker and working at a plumbing exporter company located in Taiwan.

The reason why I ask this question is just want to figure out the difference between 2 similar parts.

I don't understand much about urinal valve and curious about why it looks like a faucet seats. ( Now I know it is a seat, not a stem )

Thank you Mr_David, your explanation is very clear and helpful.
