Hi,

I would like to know what's the difference between a submersible dry pit pump and a submersible wet pit pump?

Thanx

Thats easy, one pumps air and the other pumps water...lol..Just kidden

A wet pit is where the motor runs in the water, or the pump or wet end, is on top of the motor.

A dry pit pump is one that will pull water from its bottom. The motor is over the pump or wet end.

That is the way I understand it.

Hi,

I still don't understand the design because both models are submersible.

I believe a submersible dry pit pump serves to remove all the water from the well or pit. It has the ability the run dry for periods without harm to the unit.

A submersible wet pit pump is one in which the pump must stay submerged in water to maintain proper cooling and operation, and the refill rate of the well or pit will always exceed the pump's ability to pump out water.
