I’m frustrated with a slow drip/leak on the bypass valve on a water softener I installed. I opted to separately purchase the metal bypass valve and not use the plastic one that came with the Fleck Softener. I’ve tried twice and still get a slow leak where the threaded brass fitting screws into the bypass valve.

I don't see a drip in the pictures, but I only see teflon tape on one of the fittings.

I wore off the Teflon tape messing with the connection! I did a little more Googling on the metal bypass and found thread seal was recommended. I got a tube and it did the trick!
