Hi all, the handle for the hot water on my tub broke off and water is spitting out of it. There is no easy access to the pipe under the tub, and there is no shut off valve for the tub.

I'm planning on remodeling the master bath in the next 6 months anyway, and never use the tub, so I'd just like to cap it off. Any ideas?

Price Pfister. Did you remove the screw from the stem?
Take handle off turn the cap nut on the stem down over the coarse threads on the stem. then screw the cap nut back into the faucet. once the cap not is snug turn the stem to close the valve. turn water back on.

Are you sure that stem won't just screw back on to the threads?
