Why can't I find an angle stop for a 1/2 inch copper stubout inlet and a male iron pipe thread outlet? I thought this would be common but ...

Common 1/2" copper tube is actually 5/8" Look for 5/8 compression

HD calls them

1/2 in. Nominal Compression Inlet ( 5/8 O.D. Compression )
x 7/16 in. and 1/2 in. O.D. Slip-Joint Outlet.

This will take a " 1/2 in. FIP x 1/2 in. FIP x 20 in. Braided Polymer Faucet Connector

Outlet is not a true MIP. same thread pitch and diameter. It's not tapered and not meant to screw on a female pipe fitting. made for supply hoses or a slip joint tube but nobody uses the later any longer.

A lot of faucets these days come with 3/8 compression on pre attached supplies. why not use an angle stop with 3/8 comp outlet and get a supply hose 3/8comp X 1/2 fip?

There are some stops that have 1/2 O.D. comp outlets.
Not what you looking for!!

A belated thank-you for the good advice. My HD store has been out of stock but now I can harrass them. Tom
