Just installed a new 50 gal. electric water heater. While bringing upstairs I noticed a couple metal on metal clangs like something was swinging inside. Just curious if it was the anode tube or is it something that shouldn't be moving? It seems to work fine and gives good hot water, but was just concerned about something loose. Thanks!

Could very well be the anode, slapping the sides. Could also be the vent damper clanging. I wouldn't worry about it.

Considering it's an electric water heater I wouldn't think it's a vent damper

Damn silly me. Thanks for the correction. I was never good at reading the entire question before answering.
