Gentleman,

I'm on the final stages of my bathroom renovation. Can't wait to share some pictures with you guys since y'all have been so helpful. Quick question.

Do I just use an adapter coming out of the wall to decrease the 2" drain pipe to mate up with the 1.5" sink drain? Is this alright?

Yeah you can use a 2x1 1/2 bushing, that's probably your best bet. A reducing coupler is ok as well. It's ok to change size but you can never decrease size in piping, only increase size and in your case you are increasing in size

I understand. Since the direction of flow is going from 1.5" to 2" I am increasing pipe size diameter.
