Looks like a bad connection on the cable and a hydraulic leak.

I had a power steering leak that caught fire like that.
 
But his actions kept a truck from going to the other side that may have been an even better deal. maybe depending on insurance.
 
That bare spot on the cable was laying on the frame. It fried all those ground wires right behind the starter, and after it ran out of grounds it cooked that hose and got it hot enough to ignite the oil in it.

Every time i'd put it out it would flare up again. Someone finally brought me a wrench to unhook the batteries and we got it out and it stayed out this time...
 
I wish you could of snapped some pics of the fire. Dang Otahyoni.
 
Lucky you. It's good to have a break in the monotony.
