Drip in washer outlet box

New here. Heard a drip near the washing machine. It's coming from an open plastic pipe in the top of the outlet box, and dripping into the drain that's directly below it. Seems to have stopped now, but I've never noticed this before. Any idea what this is about? No idea where this upper pipe comes from.

AC condensate drain?

Thank you for the reply. Is that possible even though the AC compressor unit is outside and downstairs?

The compressor does not produce condensate, the air handling unit does. That is (usually) inside.

central Ac is 2 units/ compressor is outside.

you have an air handler somewhere in the house, most likely n the attic.

find your unit, trace the 1'' or 3/4'' pan drain line.see whre it goes
