In the process of finishing up replumbing an old house with pex.

Here is the central manifold

Those are Sharkbite connectors for the hot and cold water, if you can see them. Worked great. No leaks (the threads above them leaked a little though) and installation is literally a question of pushing them on. For small projects they are great, though a bit cost prohibitive on larger ones. I used a sharkbite on a hot water line for three years at the cabin and it never leaked a drop.
 
So PEX just pushes together? Sounds like the air lines on trucks...

How long is it expected to last versus CPVC or copper?
 
Several different connector styles for pex. The main one used in my area is the crimp style.
 
Don't use metal hangers on pex'

The holes drilled through the joist need to be in the middle 3rd of the joist
